I hadnt been to Yia Yia's in a while, but was in the area on an early morning and just had to stop by. I didn't know that they basically function as a cafe in the morning. There were several people sitting inside and having coffee with a pasty. It's a cute shop! I always get the smith island Cake, but I tried the strawberry shortcake and it was delicious. I wish the slice was bigger. I also got a boston cream donut that was not very fresh. I didn't realize they had donuts because they were behind the counter, which might have contributed to lack of freshness. I would definitely return for the strawberry shortcake.
All the food in the display looks AMAZING!!! The cakes are HUGE! And you can buy cake by the slice. The prices are listed on every item which is nice! It was busy on the Sunday afternoon I went but that was okay because I needed time to look at what they had. They're priced well and not expensive. The staff were quick to help. There is one check out area in the corner which got congested with people but it's worth it.
Cake was delicious, even with the American Buttercream instead of Cream Cheese icing.
Fairly priced cakes that are delicious. Ordered and paid ahead online for a birthday, and the staff made pick up very easy. Would return for future cakes or just a quick treat. Interior is large with display cases of all their dessert options.
